New offering targeting brokers who want to run their own business.
Vizion Insurance Brokers has been set up by sportsman Jeremy Guscott, former Bluefin chairman Chris Blackham and former Chubb high net worth specialist John Sims.
The team said the venture has been designed to attract talented, entrepreneurial, insurance professionals looking to run their own broking business.
The final member of Vizion's leadership team is lawyer Trevor Davies, a partner with international specialist insurance law firm Kennedys.
Sims has taken up the post of Vizion managing director while Blackham has the chairman role. Sims explained: "We decided some time ago that an opportunity presented itself to build a home for brokers who are frustrated with working in an environment where their endeavours are not recognised or appropriately rewarded.
"Vizion offers a well run, regulated platform for broking entrepreneurs who have their own clients or ideas and want to run their own businesses, have their own equity, and a clearly defined exit route for when they decide to retire.
"We are already attracting interests from all sectors including commercial as well as high net worth and property owners.”
Expertise
Sims highlighted that they have already attracted three partners which he said was thanks to the way it tailors support to meet the needs of broking entrepreneurs.
He listed the support as including access to the experience and expertise of the leadership team; capital requirements and practical help in overcoming the many barriers to starting a business.
The three partners are:
- George Seatter in the high net worth sector.
- Russell Sessions who specialises in commercial and financial lines
- Jonathan Topple who specialises in ultra high net worth
Blackham added: "The fact that, as a team, we have a deep knowledge and understanding of our industry and the challenges facing brokers means we can offer a lot more than say a bank or venture capitalist.
"We are determined to collaborate as true partners with those that join Vizion."
World class
Guscott, who is development director, concluded: "I've been involved in world class and high performing teams most of my adult life.
"Joining John, Chris and Trevor will continue the theme.”
