We have seen enormous change in our industry in the past 10 years and none more so than in the broking community.
As a result, a handful of large companies now control a significant proportion of this market.
This drive for growth by the consolidators does not however provide the utopia they envisaged and has perversely created a soft under belly that provides opportunities for smaller, more efficient, niche businesses to start up with their focus being firmly on the Client.
This has led to three key factors:
- Excessive earnings – brokers have leveraged commissions and over riders from insurers to an unsustainable level
- Disillusioned staff – client managers are less able to offer superior service to their clients due to pressures on the number of clients they are being told to look after and/or the lack of appropriate resource in their backup team
- Undervalued clients – clients are consequently experiencing declining levels of service
We decided some time ago that an opportunity presented itself to build a home for brokers who are frustrated and are unwilling to accept the status quo and want a better way of life.
Vizion offers a well run, regulated platform for entrepreneurs who have their own clients or ideas and want to run their own businesses, have their own equity, and a clearly defined exit route for when they decide to retire.
Vizion can provide whatever back office support is required and commission will be shared based on how much day-to-day input the client facing partners wish to have. This is a unique way for a team or an individual to manage their clients and create value for themselves over time without the expense, risk and complications of setting up their own regulated entity.
We are fortunate to have Chris Blackham involved in our business. His vast experience will be a great help to all of our Partners to help them build something special and maximise their returns in a tax efficient way. Chris is already a serious investor in the insurance business through his vehicle Endorphin and will be willing and able to consider funding larger deals and acquisitions.
